Various - Glenda / Snake Dancer - South African OST
(CD-Digipack/ Limited Vinyl-LP/ MP3) Sonorama Sono41, 2009-05-15
First regular release of the soundtrack to the famous banned South African movie "Snake Dancer" from 1976 starring Glenda Kemp. A rare find with excellently produced Disco Funk, Bossa Jazz and Soft Rock, composed by Zane Cronje and Charles Segal. "Glenda" was censored immediately by the repressive governement as a product of Western decadence and contains unknown funk delights "The Hustler", "Show Me What You Are" and "The Club" (vocal and instrumental). Brilliant sexploitation gem from the 70s! Remastered 2009, with unique cover design and new liner notes.

Various - Colors Of Funk - The German Sound Library of Golden Ring & Happy Records 1974-1979
(CD-Digipack/ Limited Vinyl-LP/ MP3) Sonorama Sono40, 2009-04-17
Killer funk compilation full of highlights from the German music archives of Golden Ring & Happy Records, pulled from the most famous library albums of the catalogue. 15 unreleased signature sounds in a wicked jazz-funk-electro style by Peter Thomas, Klaus Weiss, Siegfried Schwab, Jürgen Franke and Werner Drexler. Stand out tunes for the dancefloor, from heavy big band to electronic funk, with open drum breaks, fat bass lines and plenty of DJ cuts.
1st release of essential movers like "Mr. Marco's Music" and "Open Up". Recorded from the master tapes, remastered 2009, with new liner notes.

Walter Strerath - Trio Quartet Quintet
(CD-Digipack & Limited Vinyl-LP) Sonorama C-39/L-39, 2009-03-20
Modern Jazz will never die and it doesn't smell funny anymore: The
original vinyl pressing of Walter Strerath "Trio Quartet Quintet"
reached the highest amounts of all sold records in December 2008 on
ebay.com, in third place and priced at 3.000$ behind two vintage albums
of the Beatles and Pink Floyd. For many years the biggest international
jazz collectors have tried to hunt down this first album by a commonly
unknown (and nearly forgotten) jazz pianist from the small German
village named Odenkirchen. The original album was manufactured in a
tiny edition of 200 copies only and is impossible to find nowadays.

My own two cents: don't pass on the INCREDIBLE Beatles cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends"...
