The Latin scene is vibrant in Europe. Quantic offered at the beginning of the summer a fantastic new album on a Columbian tip. Don't miss his live show with his Combo Barbaro in Paris on September 12 (Le Bataclan). Electic new albums from Black Grass and Dub Pistols are filled with marvels in all styles - latin grooves included. Palov & Mishkin come from Greece and their latest CD has been spinning all summer in our stereos. Skeleton is the new project from Brighton's jazz master Nostalgia 77, rising the bar with each new release. An afro-latin piece will first be available on the upcoming Impossible Ark compilation out early october via Unfold/Tru Thoughts. Spain is here too with an extract from the vibrant Achilifunk remix compilation from Lovemonk records. We'll def play more tracks from this one in the future! More spanish soul jazz vibes from Spain are featured with The Jivers and their swinging song taken from the latest Jazz&Milk Records compilation EP. I've grown to the habit of buying this German label's vinyl release systematically and haven't been disappointed yet. More German latin funkiness comes next from Una Mas Trio and Mo' Horizons, both on the Agogo label, another one to be followed closely. We close the mix as we started it, with an artist from Brighton, Black Grass - his third album is so full of hits I regret buying it on CD only.

A l'origine une émission sur Mezzo, le Jazz Mix est devenu un rendez-vous incontournable de Jazz à Vienne. Avec sa programmation qui dépasse les frontières du Jazz, la formule a conquis son public et se veut maintenant internationale. L'équipe de Mezzo, emmenée par Reza Ackbaraly, programmateur du Jazz Mix Festival, posera ses valises dans plusieurs ville du monde.
Scène incontournable des noctambules, le Jazz Mix met en lumière les nouvelles tendances du jazz et des musiques actuelles tout en restant ancré dans la tradition jazz. Curiosités techniques, improvisations, rencontres, ont toujours été les valeurs portées par cette musique en perpétuelle évolution.
Pour cette 29ème édition du festival, c'est une première... une soirée JAZZ MIX va clôturer le festival Jazz à Vienne le samedi 10 juillet. c'est la grande nouveauté de cette 29ème édition.

What The Funk est fier d'accueillir pour la première fois en live à Paris, celui qui pourrait être l'alter ego de Quantic en jazz moderne: Nostalgia 77. Comptant parmi ses plus ardents fans Gilles Peterson et Laurent Garnier, Nostalgia 77 s'est illustré pendant une décennie avec des prods allant des beats hip hop au jazz moderne, en passant par des sonorités psychédéliques chères à David Axelrod ou Sun Ra. Dans le cadre des 10 ans du label Tru Thoughts, voici un live inédit où cuivres et percussions seront au service d'un jazz planant, aux additifs groovy élégants et minimalistes.
