Mr Confuse - Catch Me - out on Légère Recordings

Mr Confuse Catch Me
Mr Confuse - Catch Me
(7"/Digital) Légère Recordings LEGO 030, 2011-09-05

First the Boogie Down track (a heavy afro funk version of the original by Man Parrish) appeared on the Battle Of The Year - Soundtrack 2010 compilation, then a Never Let The Rhythm Go track was released on a Goodgroove Records 12 inch. Now Mr. Confuse is ready to go! Catch Me is the next preview of his upcoming, second full length album Do You Realize due to hit the streets in September 2011. Exclusively available on 7 inch vinyl only for a limited period Catch Me really catches your ear with an irresistible melody and distinctive vocals. All based on a grounding of groove - a mighty bassline, funky guitar and driving Hammond organ will also "catch" your feet. Turn over from the original version, Newcastle's own Smoove (Jalapeno Records) takes over on Catch Me and you will surely groove along to a gritty, deep Northern Funk stepper.

Eddie Roberts & The Fire Eaters - Burn! - out on Légère Recordings

Eddie Roberts and The Fire Eaters Burn
Eddie Roberts & The Fire Eaters - Burn!
(CD/LP/Digital) Légère Recordings LEGO032, 2011-06-07

When in touring and recording in Spain with his band The New Mastersounds, guitarist Eddie Roberts joined forces with The Sweet Vandals' rhythm section, adding Chip Wickham's (Nightmares On Wax, Rae & Christian, The Pharcyde) world-class flute and Taz Modi's funktastic organ from Leeds/UK, and he sensed that this could be the beginning of something special. Burn! is the proof that his feelings were true. The Fire Eaters, as the combo was called, recorded the album produced by Eddie Roberts himself in 2010, completed 12 tracks including a good number of originals as well as their versions of classic acid jazz & soul tunes like I Believe In Miracles, the Lope Song or Latona, travelling way back to the times when jazz had soul and there was freedom in the rhythm.

Mr. Confuse - Feel The Fire - The Remixes
(Digital) Légère Recordings LEGO018, 2009-05-22

During the summer of 2008, Mr. Confuse released his debut album Feel The Fire accompanied by the 12" singles Lookout Weekend, Do It Right Now and Imóvel. His unique vision of blending funk, jazz, soul and brazilian rhythm into a highly entertaining hybrid for the advanced dancefloors has received a warm worldwide welcome on the scene. We even invited him for a Promo mix to present his skills and productions here on Paris DJs. Mr. Confuse received some extra-ordinary feedback from like-minded producers, musicians and DJs, and these reactions led to the idea of having "Feel The Fire"completely remixed. Now the job is done and here it is: "Feel The Fire: The Remixes" is available as download album only.

Pitch & Scratch - Hamburg Hustle

Pitch and Scratch Hamburg Hustle
Pitch & Scratch - Hamburg Hustle
(CD/Digital) Légère Recordings LEGO015, 2009-06-02

Pitch & Scratch mix up the funky analogue with digital dopeness to lift Hamburg's old funk tradition to a new bloom. Multi instrumentalist DJ Mzuzu was a funkateer from the start, while DJ Suro found his love for funk in the crates he is digging since the 90s to spice up his DJ sets and feed his sampler. The live funk project Superbad, which still leaves the footprints of the late James Brown on the dancefloors in northern Germany, marks the first fruitful collaboration of the two funkheads. Deeply rooted in the hanseatic funk tradition, the two musicians have spent 3 years in the studio to make the next generation of funk heads feel the groove.
