Smoove & Turrell mark the start of their second album campaign with an incredible double A-side single - Slow Down / Hard Work. Having won an army of new fans with their debut album Antique Soul they finished last summer's festival season on a high and decamped back to their Newcastle HQ to record the follow up. With the prolific John Turrell at the songwriting helm there was no shortage of material. Since the launch of Antique Soul he has become one of the UK's most in demand songwriters and performers having written and performed with Ashley Beedle, James Taylor, Kraak & Smaak and The Fantasy Funk Band. Having sowed his wild oats he is back in the driving seat with Smoove & Turrell and determined to make 2011 their breakthrough year. Slow Down sees John deliver a powerful vocal that evokes the ratpack at their height (assuming Frank, Dean & the boys had lived through acid house and a youth growing up in the North east that is), while Hard Work drops a groove that Ray Charles would be proud of and Turrell gives a high maintenance woman her marching orders.

Jalapeno's biggest success story are Kraak & Smaak who have become global stars with US TV appearances, headline festival slots and celebrity fans like Kanye West & Perez Hilton blogging and tweeting every time something new is released. The Dutch electro-funkers are on the verge of releasing their third album featuring collaborations with Romanthony and some other soon to be revealed star turns, as well as Sebastian and Lex - the singers from their live band. They released their first album Boogie Angst in 05 winning them a legion of new fans including Rob Da Bank, Annie Nightingale and Pete Tong on Radio 1 in the UK and Jason Bentley from KCRW in LA. In 08, they released the follow up Plastic People including the smash single Squeeze Me with Ben Westbeech on vocals. As happy touring their live band as they are DJ'ing - 2011 will be the year Kraak & Smaak cement their place at the top of the electronic scene.
