A l'origine une émission sur Mezzo, le Jazz Mix est devenu un rendez-vous incontournable de Jazz à Vienne. Avec sa programmation qui dépasse les frontières du Jazz, la formule a conquis son public et se veut maintenant internationale. L'équipe de Mezzo, emmenée par Reza Ackbaraly, programmateur du Jazz Mix Festival, posera ses valises dans plusieurs ville du monde.
Scène incontournable des noctambules, le Jazz Mix met en lumière les nouvelles tendances du jazz et des musiques actuelles tout en restant ancré dans la tradition jazz. Curiosités techniques, improvisations, rencontres, ont toujours été les valeurs portées par cette musique en perpétuelle évolution.
Pour cette 29ème édition du festival, c'est une première... une soirée JAZZ MIX va clôturer le festival Jazz à Vienne le samedi 10 juillet. c'est la grande nouveauté de cette 29ème édition.

The Hot 8 Brass Band est un pur produit de la Nouvelle-Orléans. Depuis l'ouragan Katrina, cette fanfare funky hip hop fait partie des formations les plus actives et les plus militantes d'un des berceaux de la culture américaine. C'est depuis 2007 que la fanfare s'est révélée au monde avec son premier album chez Tru Thoughts (10 ans en 2009) Rock With The Hot 8, sur lequel on découvre les brillantes reprises du What's My Name de Snoop Dogg ou du Sexual Healing de Marvin Gaye. Depuis, ils sillonnent le monde avec une énergie rare et un groove endiablé, ce 30 juin, venez les écouter à la Maroquinerie et oubliez tout ce que vous croyez savoir sur les brass bands!

Tru Thoughts' first Shapes compilation of 2009 is a rather massive 29 track double CD collection, featuring a selection of current highlights, remixes and exclusive tracks from acts including Quantic and his Combo Bárbaro, Bonobo, Belleruche, The Bamboos, Nostalgia 77 Sessions featuring Keith and Julie Tippett, Kinny, Stonephace and all the excellent artists currently signed to the roster, of which there are far too many to mention in one coherent sentence. Suffice to say, over the two discs - arranged into 'home listening' and 'DJ' modes - there is plenty of great music for your ears and dancefloors, from minimal soul through downtempo beats and lush jazzy vocal tracks to floor-filling basslines.

We are pleased to launch a brand new series of limited edition 12" DJ promo's, available exclusively from Tru Thoughts head office. Tru Thoughts presents Back Gold will be vinyl only releases and will feature exclusive music which will be either unavailable for several months or never to be released elsewhere, ever. There are less than a thousand available Worldwide. Featured on this 12 are four nuggets aimed at the DJ's. Hints filling loosening bassline will test any soundsystem and totally reinvents The Hot 8. Bassnectar toughens up Me&You with a mash up vibe. TM Juke and Jack Baker have taken on and bettered Fedde Le Grand's "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" and broken it up funk style. The final track is the work of wonderkid Trus Me who turns Belleruche's Reflection into a 4/4 groove masterfully. These 12's are available from today (Monday 1st September) from Tru Thoughts only.
