This is some heavy heavy monster piece of wax!!
In the foosteps of their recent available vinyl releases in Europe - a fried 7 inch on Freestyle Records and a killer 12 inch on Knowfool Music -, Australian Hammond-Power-Funk group Cookin' On 3 Burners hit the dancefloor jackpot once again with a new 7 inch on Freestyle.
"Keb's Bucket" is indeed EXACTLY what over-polluted-with-electro-pop-clones clubs need today. Its undeniable back-to-basis approach to in-your-face raw funk is spiced up with modern sound structure action and athletic breaks, and would get all the laziest party-goers up and dancing.
The b-side "Redback" is in a Quantic Soul Orchestra deep funk kind of vibe, with a cool call-and-response interplay between the Hammond and guitar, making this 45 and essential release for all funk DJs and collectors. Djouls

'Mosquito Coast' is a deep, bass heavy house groove peppered with trumpet, Cuban montunos and a sublime McCoy Tyner-esque piano solo that will find favour with many a dancefloor this summer. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia come the production duo of Ben Grayson & Lance Ferguson. They are known worldwide as deep funk outfit The Bamboos who released a track on Kenny Dope & Keb Darge's label Kay Dee and have recently signed to Tru Thoughts. This new collaboration from producers Bennson and Lanu sees them under their No Comply moniker. '4th Floor Fiesta' has them teaming up with Melbourne piano heavyweight Mark Fitzgibbon for a heavenly slice of dance-floor bossa/jazz. No Comply's rub of Los Cabrones 'Hola Que Tal' takes the original salsa into outer space with a stop-over in West London. Tough broken beats collide with searing live percussion, Latino chants from vocalist Leo D and a six-piece horn section 'Latin Jazz Orchestra Los Cabrones'.
