After producing albums and hit singles with Studio One's legends The Lone Ranger, Carlton Livingston, The Jays, The Silvertones, Parisian dubmeister Grant Phabao was given the Jamaican stamp of approval of "the producer who brings back the original Lee Perry and King Tubby sounds with a modern twist". Après une longue collaboration avec MC Dynamax, Erik Rug opte pour une version Waxgroove "Strictly Djs" et invite Lordfunk, ex dealer de vinyl à la légendaire boutique A1 (Nyc), à le rejoindre comme résident. Une nouvelle formule ou les 2 DJs mixent... à deux! Leur science du groove ffffunky transforme la Waxgroove en inarrêtable machine à danser! Une soirée qui ne décevra pas les amateurs de soul, boogie, disco, afro, latin, deep et northern funk...

The Drug Store is the first venture for the Colored-Inc. label into Psychedelic Folk & Rock vibes. Blending Nigerian harmonies with American Folk and Jazz, Reggae chants with Stoner Rock and Hip Hop beats or Nyabinghi percussions, freaky electronics with Afrobeat or deep poetry, James Bond-like arrangements with 21st century Chicago Soul, and inviting some famous Zulu Nation King & MC to a deep garage-blues session, this is indeed a kind of a Multi-Colored Thing, a nearly hallucinatory record pushing the Colored-Inc. label's identity towards more edgy forms of African, Carribean and Afro-American music.
