Paris DJs Soundsystem - Hip Hop Non Stop
(MP3 Podcast on www.ParisDJs.com) T.I.M.E.C., 2009-09-18
Hip Hop isn't only the mainstream shit they try to feed you with. Hip Hop is vigorously alive, if you consider the huge amount of albums, singles and mixtapes released each week. In the vein of our It's The New Hip Hop Thing compilation issued on CD thru the Vibrations label last February, here's another snapshot on today's cool and groovy Hip Hop, with the unique Paris DJs perspective.

Paris DJs Soundstem - 21st Century Latin Vol.4 (Latin Funk)
(MP3 Podcast on www.ParisDJs.com) T.I.M.E.C., 2009-08-20
The Latin scene is vibrant in Europe. Quantic offered at the beginning of the summer a fantastic new album on a Columbian tip. Don't miss his live show with his Combo Barbaro in Paris on September 12 (Le Bataclan). Electic new albums from Black Grass and Dub Pistols are filled with marvels in all styles - latin grooves included. Palov & Mishkin come from Greece and their latest CD has been spinning all summer in our stereos. Skeleton is the new project from Brighton's jazz master Nostalgia 77, rising the bar with each new release. An afro-latin piece will first be available on the upcoming Impossible Ark compilation out early october via Unfold/Tru Thoughts. Spain is here too with an extract from the vibrant Achilifunk remix compilation from Lovemonk records. We'll def play more tracks from this one in the future! More spanish soul jazz vibes from Spain are featured with The Jivers and their swinging song taken from the latest Jazz&Milk Records compilation EP. I've grown to the habit of buying this German label's vinyl release systematically and haven't been disappointed yet. More German latin funkiness comes next from Una Mas Trio and Mo' Horizons, both on the Agogo label, another one to be followed closely. We close the mix as we started it, with an artist from Brighton, Black Grass - his third album is so full of hits I regret buying it on CD only.
...More '21st Century Latin' music to come soon in these pages...

Tombee - Godfathers
(limited 7"/download) Jack To Phono JTP018, 2009-06-15
Tombee serves up his third dish on Jack to Phono Records! Godfathers follows on from Sticky Rhythm but with more of a hip hop vibe. The Cheeky Newcastle based producer has an ear for delivering the knockout dancefloor hook. On the flip we have a rather special appearance from Brighton's own Black Grass. Tombee's reaction is one of a kid in a sweet shop!

Grant Phabao & Djouls - 21st Century Blaxploitation Vol.2
(MP3 Podcast on ParisDJs.com) T.I.M.E.C., 2009-02-26
We had so much feedback and praise from our first animated movie starring vintage shots of Pam Grier in her prime, animation fused with real-time shooting, uncanny 3D special effects and the such that we decided to shoot a sequel. Here's the soundtrack to that new movie 21st Century Blaxploitation volume 2. Expect hip hop, psychedelic soul, latin grooves and, of course, wah wah funk! All those tracks are just HUGE. Repeated play is advised.
