Originally commissioned by NYC River To River Fest, MTO Plays Sly is Steven Bernstein's love letter to the musical genius of Sly Stone. Growing up in the San Francisco bay area in the 60's Bernstein was first exposed to this music coming from the radio, as well as neighbor's parties. While constantly adding musical delicacies to his plate, Sly has remained a source of inspiration to Bernstein for over 30 years. Recast in the classic format of big band with organ (or more specifically Territory band with organ), these new arrangements unveil the melodic and harmonic brilliance of Sly Stone. While his lyrics range from the optimism of the 60's to the paranoia of the 70's, it is his musical skills that set him apart from his contemporaries. Full of melodic counterpoint and surprising harmonic twists, Sly's music remains timeless. The CD MTO Plays Sly, slated for a fall 2011 release, features P-Funk legend Bernie Worrell on B-3 organ and special guest Vernon Reid, alongside singers Antony, Martha Wainright, Dean Bowman, Sandra St Victor and Shilpa Ray.

The second release from Global Noize featuring Jason Miles, DJ Logic and Falu is A Prayer For The Planet – set for U.S. release on August 23, 2011 on the Lightyear/EMI imprint. The CD has already been released in Europe. This being their sophomore effort, is being described as Global Noize's declaration on the state of our world in the 21st century, and it features appearances by Karl Denson, Mocean Worker, Jeff Coffin, Oz Noy, Jay Rodriguez, Mailka Zarra, Lica Cecata, and others. Jason Miles, DJ Logic and Falu have crafted a truly imaginative and compelling album without sacrificing the global groove, melody and innovation that made up the first Global Noize release. As described by DJ Logic, Global Noize is "a hip and electric musical journey crossing all boundaries", and is an organic, free-spirited sonic brew of some of the best elements of jazz, funk, electronica and world fusion – it is music without borders.

Many of the tracks are instrumentals or alternate recordings of various Parliament/Funkadelic songs released in the years following 1973. There some completley different musical arrangements in these songs and many of the lyrics are completely different than the finished product."

In 1972, as the lineup of Funkadelic that had made the first three albums collapsed in on themselves, some members shuttled back and forth between Detroit and Toronto and kept recording. One of the projects that was embarked upon was an LP by a group called U.S. (United Soul), a single "Baby I Owe You Something Good b/w I Miss My Baby" appeared that year credited to U.S. Music with Funkadelic. The original album of five tracks includes some prime era Funkadelic grooves including the outrageous "Rat Kiss The Cat On The Navel" and "Be What You Is" which are both uptempo psychedelic funk, as well as the wonderful gospel-imbued vocals of Gary Shider on the opener "This Broken Heart". An album reached test-pressing stage, but was never released.
