Press Release :
Case 358 - With the European funked up Jazz beats! Mikkas and Lars, fine Nordic specimens- from Norway and Denmark produced this track especially for Mr. Jacques Laverne. The track has a downbeat fluffy friendly vibe perfect for warming any icy fjord.
French Moment - And so another trip across the North Sea resulted in a chance meeting with the one they call Groover- he had a wonderful French Moment and ooh la la we might well have a bit of a dancefloor mover! Groover aka Jeppe Kaltoft has a secret passion for jazz and will reveal all in the future- but here we have a house groove for starters on JLR.
The Old Days - Finally the 777 machine was activated after the secret codeword was whispered in Stockport. We dip into the JLR archives and give The Old Days by Monochrome a fatter, chunkier sound. The original was on JLR 002 on the folklore & fairytale release and was written by Ian Carten, produced by Martin Desaii (J-Walk) and beated by the phreak Jason Holmes.

About Ben Horn
Ben Horn is the DJ Mikkas from Norway and the Danish DJ Lars B. Between them they have been DJ'ing for more than three decades.
The pair first met, and teamed up, while they were both playing at an electronic festival in the midst of a Swedish forest With Mikkas hooked on breakbeats and Lars being a sucker for jazz, and both of them producing tracks on their own, teaming up just felt natural.
The duo started their producing career in May 2001, in a somewhat odd fashion: they composed music for the ballet "Off the record". This was the first time producers of electronic music were let in to the "sacred" world of the Royal ballet. It was a strange experience watching classical trained ballet dancers performing to two step, electronica and big beat rhythms, in front of the Danish queen.
Lars and Mikkas soon found themselves with a production stretching all the way from chilled slick downbeat and jazzy funky breakbeats, to weird electronica and hard new skool breaks. The variety off music also required a number off aliases, and releases on different labels.
This resulted in the side projects "Miss Norway", that works as the duos outlet for weird experimental electronica, "Breather", witch is industrial breakbeats, and "Fork", witch is the name used for chilled house tracks, released on the label "Music for dreams". Mikkas and Lars kept their main project, Ben Horn, for the more funky vibes, everything from latinbreaks/ nu jazz on "Voodoo recordings", blaxploitation big beats on the German label "Gene poole", and smooth downbeats on "Jacques Laverne Records"..
