Premier extrait du premier volume (d'une série de deux) des "Master sessions" de Up, Bustle & Out enregistrées à La Havane et mises en boîte à Bristol, "Hip hop barrio, who's gonna take the weight" est en fait un joli maxi à ne pas confondre avec un mini-album 7 titres. En effet deux tracks de moins de deux minutes en fin de chaque face ne sont là que pour recentrer le projet clairement dans l'ambiance et l'atmosphère actuelles de La Havane, musicalement parlant, bien sûr ("Mariel port, Spanish Harlem" et "Chevrolet verde y blanco"); tandis que "Descarga con café", joyau 100% cubain type Buena Vista Social Club, 0% breakbeat, se retrouve sur l'album. Restent finalement que ce "Hip hop barrio" et ses 3 remixes, dont un ("Smith & Mighty 'Back the deal' mix") est lui aussi déjà présent sur l'album. On s'intéressera donc plus particulièrement aux "Smith& Mighty 'Be for real' mix", dispensable, et au "Moodubi 'Party talk' mix", sympatique, tout en percussions syncopées et boisées, mais tout aussi peu révolutionnaire. Finalement les meilleurs tracks sont sur l'album et seul le Dj puriste qui souhaitera de préférence le son du maxi, plus dense, se procurera cette petite folie breakbeat cubaine à l'orgue funky 70's.

Hi Ninja Freaks,
I'm part of the Bristol crew Moodubi that remixed Up Bustle & Out- Hip Hop Barrio tune.
I'm intrigued as to what the review says in English it sounds good in French from what i can make of it? :0)
