Press Release :
After summer recess, Jack to Phono returns with the massive "Amelie in Dub"...

Hailing from Newcastle (home of the Brown) DJ, producer and film-maker Tombee often describes his sound as Folk-Hop. The definition of Folk music, if you look it up, is music handed down from generation to generation, which when considering the samples interwoven and flipped here, kinda makes sense...

Riding a rather large and recognisable riff, Tombee ups the dubcontrols to 11 and drops one of the biggest tunes of the summer that was. Think Aim, Rae & Christian and that good old boom bap and your almost there. On the flip is a twisted dancehall-style remix from Tru Thoughts boy wonder Diesler & his handy assistant Capstone (Hardkandy/Bonobo)who shake their asses and every other appendage possible with this rumpshaking re-fix. Large!!!

The latest Analog Africa reissue is up for pre-order on Bandcamp! The album, originally a 1978 release by Orchestre Poly Rythmo's singer Vincent Ahehehinnou, is rare-as-shit, worth nearly 4 figures if you can find a decent copy. There's only 4 tunes, two afrofunk monsters and two ballads, but...
