Info :
The second in a series of three 12" singles featuring tracks from Alex Cowan's jaw-dropping second solo album, 'Forward'.
Featuring the hauntingly seductive vocals of Cowan's old friend Naim, 'Skin' is a slinky, synth-ridden tale of abstract love (and lust) on the dancefloor, set to a head-nodding hip hop beat.
The title track appears in original, instrumental and acappella forms, as well as an exclusive new version featuring South London MC Rup on mic duties.
Rup (pronounced Roop) made a guest appearance on TM Juke's first album, 'Maps From The Wilderness' back in 2003. His debut LP for UK hip hop label Zebra Traffic was released in February 2007.
On the flipside you’ll find two more album cuts: a squelchy bass-led number called 'Bee's On Mars' and 'So Good', featuring Cowan’s longtime collaborator Alice Russell. This track appears in both vocal and instrumental forms.
The final track, 'Skull Session' is exclusive to this release; a playful collage of breakbeats and vocal samples that captures the same masterful cut 'n' paste energy of early DJ Shadow or RJD2.
