A croire que Ubiquity suit désormais à la trace Gilles Peterson: le label de San Francisco a décidé de surfer sur la vague worldwide. Les amateurs des débuts auront du mal à avaler la pillule mais le label souhaite visiblement regarder vers l'avenir. Malheureusement, ça sent trop le court terme pour qu'on y croit. Ce label qui a su mettre en avant les artistes qui ont fait son succès -Greyboy- et réhabiliter des valeurs sûres -Boogaloo Joe Jones, Pucho and his Latin Soul Brothers entre autres- ne met plus ici ni personne, ni style, ni thème en avant. Rythmiques afro, samba, carnaval..., les percussions s'enchaînent sans une once de composition. Tous dans le même panier pour le dance floor!
