Note : a new promo CD with the same catalog number (ZENCDS218P) has been issued in October 2008, with a different tracklist (Ganja/Flying). I guess this one (Angry/Ganja) was never commercially released, so no vinyl, no download, only a rare promo CD...

Press Release
Kevin Martin AKA The Bug announces the highly anticipated "London Zoo" album with the mighty single, "Angry," featuring the vocal talents of reggae legend Tippa Irie (Irie had number one hit with 'Hello Darling' and worked with the Black Eyed Peas on their monster hit 'Hey Mama'. He was part of the pioneering British fast chat specialists Saxon Sound). Tippa is at his most militant, The Bug at his most accessible.

The 'Jah War', 'Skeng', and 'Poison Dart' singles have devastated the Dubstep scene in the past 12 mths, called "better than anything else by precisely 312%" (Guardian Guide), "Anthemic. Immense" (Guardian) and " Heavy, Heavy, Heavy" (Mixmag), The Bug returns with the more familiar percussive assault of "Angry". But instead of opting for the homicidal intensity of his groundbreaking Razor X era 'Killer' cut, Martin opts for flat out dancefloor demolition with the irresistible swing of this virulently infectious tune.

"Angry" proves that "London Zoo" is going to be an album that clearly reaches past and brings together/celebrates reference points from dancehall, grime, hip-hop, and noise onslaughts. Additionally 'Ganja' continues Martin's explosive relationship with Roll Deep's Flow dan and Killa P for the non-album B-side. Other album guests are set to include Warrior Queen, Ricky Ranking, Spaceape, Roger Robinson and Aya. Having been publicly praised by such maverick's as Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Grace Jones, Lamb, Massive Attack, Jerry Dammers and Mark Stewart, this single is sure to increase the pressure. Essential.

Speech Debelle - Freedom Of Speech
(CD/LP/Digital) Big Dada Recordings BD193, 2012-02-06

Two years since winning the 2009 Mercury Music Prize for her debut album, Speech Therapy, and having ridden a rollercoaster through life since then, Speech Debelle is ready to drop her second collection of music. Entitled Freedom of Speech, the album sees Speech turning from introspection to stand up, face and engage with the world around her, spitting confident themes of revolution and love. A first taste of the album came in the aftermath of this summer's riots, when Speech reacted immediately, leaking the track Blaze Up A Fire, (also featuring Roots ManuvaRealism), a track about political revolution written months before. Now the build-up begins to the release of Freedom of Speech in early February 2012 with the free download of the track Studio Backpack Rap. From political to musical revolution, Speech describes the track as being "all about virtual instrumentation and an ode to KwesSpeech Therapy, while showcasing just one aspect of her remarkable new album.
