Press Release :
In a recent interview, Naeem Juwan aka MC Spank Rock explained “I get excited when James Brown drops down to his knees and they bring the cape out.” The time has come to bring the cape out. Yes, it’s the moment you’ve been waiting for, even though you may not know it.

“Sweet Talk” is two tunes in one, both of them utterly, unbelievably fly, which combine together into something sublime. First up is hardest, punkiest, most pummelling funk jam you’ve heard, all floor-shaking bass and jagged guitar licks, with Naeem Juwan spitting lyrics with all the geek-grandeur of a true contender: “Fuck you up like a Percocet/ Make you feel good.” With his backing singers, the Typical Girls hollering and a-wailing Mr Juwan testifies. Then, just when you think it can get no better, the bass and guitar drops out, a vibraphone riffs in and the Typical Girls sing the sweetest, most euphoric coda you could possibly hope for, a true goofy-grin moment, as anyone who has seen Spank Rock live can testify.

This miniature classic is given an instrumental dusty grooves re-work by producer Armani XXXchange on his re-edit, London-based Kalbata takes it somewhere between breaks and old school garage, while exclusive track “Prime Time” is a blast of raw, gut-punching breaks and hard lyricism. Get on the good foot.
