Press Release :
Red Earth records release their first vinyl cut, "Blinded Souls" taken from Soothsayers' recent album "Tangled Roots", described by Mojo Magazine as "Irresistibly funky grooves combining intricate percussion, virtuoso vocals and swinging horns, with meaningful lyrics and dubwise soul.
Side A is a rolling dance floor remix by the mixer of the moment Quantic. A straight ahead bass-led slice of uplifting groove with Soothsayers' distinct afrobeat and dub flavours combining with Quantic?s production to create an original and appetising dance recipe.
Side B begins with Soothsayers' album mix featuring a big vocal chorus and the rootsy lead vocals of Adesose Wallace. Following on is a drum heavy attack by legendary UK reggae and dub scientist Mad Professor with assistance from his protégé Joe Ariwa.
What the press says:
"Every track on this energetic and energising set is groove heavy and club friendly with stabbing afrobeat basslines and plaintive dub rhythms a consistent feature throughout" Echoes Magazine
"A brilliant, affirmative, all-nations masterpiece, establishment-challenging, cross-bred monster, one for all the original sufferheads still out there and one for a new generation too. It will feed your head and thicken your blood and might even bring down the walls of Jerico" All About Jazz
"This collective is definitely something to look out for: a group of musicians with their individual sounds and influences coming together to record doesn't happen much these days and is a real challenge to get right. And "Tangled Roots" is proof that they have managed it!" Fly
"Due to the band's accomplished musicianship and overall originality, the result is highly compelling" XLR8R Magazine
"A major step forward for one of the hardest-working and most creative bands on the scene" Straight No Chaser.
