First full length solo album by Switchstance’s psychedelic Beatmonster Protassov who is known for his remixes for Dr. Rubberfunk, Ancient Astronauts or labels such as Bastard Jazz Records, Loop Recordings and his musical contribution to videos of Burton Snowboards, Quiksilver or Element Skateboards.

The album is full of beautiful live guitars, chunky Beats and heavy breaks. Ranging from advanced downtempo to solid uptempo breaks to even beat-heavy reggae with female vocalist Bajka (known for her works with Bonobo, Radio Citizen, Poets of Rhythm or Beanfield).

Protassov's first solo album "Shalina Music" (SRCD 006) is finished and it's a pure banger. after releasing the collaboration album "Grow" together with Kabanjak in 2005 he is ready to show why we call him our psychedelic beatmonster. the funked up teaser for this album, the "Steam & Oil EP" (including remixes by Flevans and Dr. Rubberfunk), received great response and numerous plays by cats like Kid Loco, 7 Samurai, Dusty (Jazz & Milk), DJ Enne (Innvision), Erik The Red (Giant Step) and many more. the album will be out on the 16th of may, distributed worldwide exclusively through Groove Attack (physical release) and Zebralution (digital release). visit Protassov's profile on Myspace on www.myspace.com/aprotassov and check out his wonderful music!
