About Sound Record - Hip Hop/Funk Record Shop in Paris :
This small record shop in the center of Paris is one hell of a pusher. Each time I go there, the owner always finds time to let me hear at least 5-10 new records he thinks I might be interested in. And each time I bring back some superb stuff which I surely wouldn't have found by myself.
Distributors in France? Who gives a shit? The best record stores go directly to the US, UK, Germany, Japan, etc to order the records they think will sell. Sound Record is one of those shops. Looking for the brand new Brother Ali 12 inch, I just called and they told me it was on sale as soon as tomorrow! Want that incredible Cut Chemist single or the latest Kenny Dope joint on glorious vinyl?? They have it already. Looking for some old school supa-rare stuff? Just ask, they might find it for you...
PS DJs who cannot refrain themselves to buy new cool vinyls all the time, I'd advise not to go there too often if you don't have a day job.
