Press release :
The five-headed bug-funk monster that is Deptford’s greatest infestation return via the power of the interweb.

"Wu Ju" is probably the best example of tear-in-the-eye, symphonic geezer rap ever to come out of the good ol' U of K. It drags you up into great waves of small island emotion while keeping you grounded in tales of Sunday lunch and missed buses. All of it with enough trademark wonky Pest chopping to keep the most ADI-ed child smiling. Truly a thing of sweeping beauty and misty-eyed future-nostalgia.

But that is not all (no, that is not all). In addition, the download package will include not one but two previously unreleased "Pest" tracks. "Dino Ferrari" will allow you to jack your body in ways you hadn’t even imagined were possible – a classic piece of off-kiler machine-funk enlivened by the Grimethorpe Brass Band and a pencil moustache of a vocal. "Red, White & Blues" builds from a jazzy electric piano opening into a crazed bebop cut-up before resolving as car chase music for Angel Dust-obsessed Robin Reliant drivers.

Download it and get Kate Moss to blow cocaine up yer arse. She needs the work.

Venezuela 70 - Cosmic Visions Of A Latin American Earth - Venezuelan Experimental Rock In The 1970s (CD/2LP, Soul Jazz, 2016)

English label Soul Jazz Records released this summer a collection of experimental rock recorded in Venezuela in the 1970s, at a time when oil was flowing in abundance and consequently culture rather well subsidized. However, this music had never really got out of the country until now, it's really a...
