Biography :
Time Machine came together in Washington, DC in August of 1999. DJ Mekalek and Jaysonic were working on Jay's "Hot Air" CD (released Fall 2000) when Comel stopped by to lay down the final verse of "Block Troopin," which became the first Time Machine song. The chemistry between the crew was undeniable. They produced new tracks including "Reststop Sweetheart" and "A Million and One Things to Do" with studio wiz Stoerok, which were released on a 12-inch from Emerge Music, home of the first two Non-Prophets twelves. The record ranked in the Top 5 on CMJ and other radio charts and outsold the competition in the States while the reaction was nothing short of a craze in Japan.
In late 2001, Time Machine set up shop in Providence, Rhode Island to begin work on its first full-length. Dissatisfied with label politics, the group formed its own imprint, Glow-in-the-Dark Records, and released their sophomore single "Personal Ads." The DIY ethic paid off and "Personal Ads" went on to outsell the previous single, enjoy a healthy ride on the charts and was picked up by eight distributors worldwide. Exciting on stage as well as in the studio, Time Machine has performed live alongside such fan favorites as The Beatnuts, Common, Das Efx, Edo G., J-Live, Masta Ace and People Under the Stairs.
In late-2003, Time Machine put their winter coats in storage and relocated to Los Angeles. Focused on their efforts as a group, the squad spent the two years prior to the move conceiving and recording their forthcoming full-length debut, "Slow Your Roll" and its lead single "Night Lights". Both have recently been released on their own Glow-in-the-Dark Records amidst licensing offers from around the globe. Hip Hop legends Special K (of Awesome Two) and Edo G., as well as old-meets-new specialist Edan, all make guest appearances and assist in the album's mission of paying homage to classic Hip Hop while simultaneously breaking new ground. This long player sees the crew telling stories over nostalgic melodies, thick basslines, memorable loops and hard drums. Time Machine breaks away from the pack by bringing quality and creativity back to the music.

The Procussions Grant Phabao Remix
06. The Procussions - Simple Song (Grant Phabao remix)
(from 12" virtual release/MP3 Podcast on ParisDJs.com, 2006-11-14 / Rawkus/T.I.M.E.C.)

Review :
In those hard times when government individuals thrive more and more on the poor, it's really nice to meet educated and involved artists. The Procussions are that kind of people, nice, intelligent and with something to say, without ever losing their natural cool. This is rare enough to be pointed out...
Their latest album, "5 Sparrows For 3 Cents", was released earlier this year in the US but only in november 2006 in Europe. It's top-of-the-notch L.A. hip hop, funky, old school, with plenty of sunshine, so we thought at Paris DJs headquarters that it could be a good idea to try and do a collaboration with them, that could also help promote their french tour.
The band got into the idea right away and soon -thanks to the Internet- the french dubmeister Grant Phabao, who recently reworked some George Clinton, Lee McDonald, Ty or Alice Russell tracks, received some vocal parts to play with...
A few days later a new reggae instrumental was born, wonderfully gracing The Procussions' track with skanking riffs, heavy bass, clavinets chops, echo, reverb and lots of percussion - Phabao style.
This is hip hop/reggae mashing-up at his best, we're just plain proud to offer you this as a free download. Get it while it's hot and don't miss the rest of the tour

Biography :
As one of the most reputable producers and DJs in Japan, Tonk has been supporting the Hip Hop scene since the early 1990's. While he released his own five full length albums; "Penetration" (naked artz) in 1997, "Reincarnation" in 2000, "Aquarian Soul" in 2002 and "LOVE" in 2004, he produced several tracks for Pismo, Sadat X, Afu-ra, Cocoa Brovaz, Zion I, Rasco, Raashan Ahmad, etc. The 4th solo album "SWEET" was out on the October 5th 2005.
The 5th solo album "Frequent Flyers" is a highly-anticipated worldwide debut full length album, which will feature Tonk's choicest beats and some of the illest underground MCs and singers including The Procussions, Lightheaded, and Noelle of The Rebirth.

Press Release :
This is the massive follow-up single to Ohmega Watts 2004 sell-out debut. Featuring up n'coming West Coast act the Procussions on the mics and Noelle from The Rebirth on the catchy hook "That Sound" is a bouncy party track that's reminiscent of TCQ, the Heiroglyphics, or Leaders of the New School. The Quantic Soul Orchestra step up to the plate with a super tasty summertime funk remix for added DJ pressure - guitar licks and Hammond organ add a wicked organic vibe.
On the flip Atlanta based Manchild (of Mars Ill, Blue Collar Sessions and Raw Material fame), joins Big Rec (aka Reconcile) of Mass Reality, and Braille of Lightheaded in a chunky head-nodding affair over some truly rough & rugged beats!
Signing to Ubiquity for a full album after the acclaimed success of his 2004 EP, producer / MC Ohmega Watts has come up with another club-bound hip hop 12”. Watts is quickly stamping a unique signature production sound on his tracks that build-up in energy built on breaks that evolve and progress.
Ohmega Watts "The Find" album will follow later this year, full of original hip hop and instrumental jams from Portland, Oregon. Watch for a US tour this Fall.
