Encore une compilation! En fait, chaque compilation marque un tournant chez Ninja Tune. Depuis toujours, c'est un moyen sûr de faire connaître toutes les productions du label anglais, sans besoin d'aller vendre à 10.000 personnes 10.000 artistes. Ici, le concept est simple et efficace, faire connaitre grâce aux noms déja connus (Coldcut, The Herbaliser, Funki Porcini...) des talents plus jeunes comme Kid Koala ou Ryuichi Sakamoto. Ce coup-ci, on découvre surtout une structure qui a grossit grâce à l'arrivée de deux sous-labels de Ninja Tune: Ntone et Big Dada records. Fondés sur le même principe que Ninja Tune, ces deux labels se développent au sein même d'une structure qui a déjà maintes fois fait ses preuves. Une bon moyen de se faire une idée de la suite des évènements chez les Ninjas: toujours aussi mix, toujours aussi bon.

Concernant le track "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" crédité à Kid Koala & Money Mark sur cette compilation: le livret du CD indique "Taken from the forthcoming album Carpal Tunnel Syndrome", et bien c'est faux. Ce track homonyme du premier album du Kid n'est pas présent sur le dit album. Un inédit travesti, donc.
Ayant tourné avec le sieur Money Mark en 1998, Kid Koala n'a aucun problème pour improviser avec les claviers psychedelico-vintage et lo-fi de celui-ci, à coup de beat-juggling et de samples de machine à écrire bien old school, mais rien de renversant non plus ici...
