Press Release :
"'At The Dance' is his best, most rounded work to date... a touch of future soul for the ladies, a touch of Zinc style, bassline-exing business... off kilter hip hop for the b-boys... and a slice of down tempo beats. Full house!" - DJ Mag
"Hint is one of the most creative and perhaps unsung producers around. Check this boy out!" - Straight No Chaser
"...an excellent value six-tracker... every track is worthy of plays" - I-DJ Magazine
"Hint gets raw and rude... A-Class music!" - XLR8R

Hint's new EP, 'Driven From Distraction' is a brilliant taster of his eagerly-anticipated forthcoming album.
Featuring a mixture of instrumental and vocal tracks - with contributions from Laura Vane, Kinny and the young Brighton-based MC Rizzle – this 12" is a sublime example of Hint's accomplished skills as a producer and composer across a range of the styles he loves, from hip hop to fiery soul to no-nonsense dancefloor bombs.

The opener is "One Woman Army", a soul/boogie style track with crystal clear vocals written and performed by Laura Vane. As catchy as a pop song, it is brought into the leftfield by Hint's trademark economical but energetic electronic beats and riffs. The deeply melodic "Afro Love Forest" conjures up images of a leafy glade, with wooden drums and an exotic feel. Tru Thoughts label-mate Kinny gives a stellar performance, exercising the reaches of her stunning vocal range with soaring melodies and a darker undercurrent.

"Muddled Morning" features the talents of Rizzle, who is in Hint's words, an "insanely ambitious" 16-year-old MC who picked up on Hint's music through the wondrous medium of MySpace and proceeded to hassle him into giving him a couple of beats. With an aim to keep on representing his own experiences and day-to-day life through his music (whilst he says most of his contemporaries in the MC field are starting to rhyme about stabbing people on the bus and the like) Rizzle is a fun and refreshing presence, laying a hip hop/grime rhyme onto one of Hint's chunkiest beats yet - the sound of an unpretentious and talented youngster having fun with music.

The first of two instrumental tracks on this EP comes in the shape of "Scrawny's Beat" - a straight up 'dancefloor pressure' track that captures that feeling of being totally overwhelmed on a danceoor by the sound coming out of the speakers. The other is Hint's killer remix of the Me&You track "Sneaker Thief", which is getting its eagerly-awaited vinyl release at last. It was made available as a free download for a limited time earlier in the year - to an immediate response form many tastemakers including DJ Yoda and Rob Da Bank, requesting an mp3 to play out that night.

The full CD album, 'Driven From Distraction' is out on 28th July.
