Grant Phabao and Djouls - 21st Century Afro Vol.5

GRANT PHABAO AND DJOULS 21st Century Afro Vol 5
Grant Phabao and Djouls - 21st Century Afro Vol.5
(MP3 Podcast on www.ParisDJs.com) T.I.M.E.C., 2009-03-09

Our world tour of African music continues in the form of a greatest hits selection from the last two years, with supa-dupa audio mastering by Grant Phabao (as usual). The Mehanan Street Band 'Make The Road By Walking' is an instant classic of instrumental funk and soul. We said that before. The Budos Band album 'Budos Band II' is an instant classic of cinematic afro and funk. That too. The Souljazz Orchestra album 'Manifesto' will be enjoyed by all fans of Fela and James Brown. Yep.... We've been harrassing you about the SJO quite much. Have we already played and praised the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble brilliance in these pages? Think so. Didn't we already play a track from the Afro Influenced Funk Federation in our latest 21st Century Afro mix? Yes we did. And The Polyversal Souls is just another disguise for The Poets Of Rhythm (alias Karl Hector and The Malcouns), who are featured, like, every month here...
