Vous avez probablement déjà entendu Gorillaz, savant mélange de dessin animé, de hip hop et d'indie pop, énorme carton international. En gros, il s'agit de la version commerciale de Deltron 3030 avec le chanteur de Blur, pour résumer (tout a déjà été plus ou moins dit ou écrit sur ce super-groupe). Le projet est vraiment bien réalisé et abouti, même si très pop et donc vite consommé. Kid Koala ne fait qu'y jouer les seconds couteaux, loin derrière les guitares et le chanteur pop, ce qu'il fait très bien cela dit, en toute discrétion pertinente. La version de "Latin Simone" est celle chantée en anglais par Damon Albarn, différente de celle chantée par Ibrahim Ferrer sur l'album.
