Dj Food - Refried Food

dj food refried food
Dj Food - Refried Food
(6x12"/CD) Ninja Tune ZEN21/ZENCD21, 1996-02-19

Classic Food cuts remixed by : The Angel, Autechre, Ashley Beedle, DJ Food, Dr. Rockit, Fila Brazilia, The Herbaliser, MLO, Skint, Squarepusher, Tongue & Groove, Wagon Christ.

Info :
Note remix du diner d'hier soir : 5/5

Allo? Alright mate? D'you'z wanna remix my record?
Welcome to 1996.
N'aa, man. Remixes are so boring, just abismal. Where's the innovation, where's the originality?
Flying in the face of fashion with a large and upturned middle finja, Ninja Tune welcome you to an album of remixes.
Just the same ole shit, refried...... Get a life, sucka.
Eat this.REFRIED FOOD, THA ALBUM..... so what makes this cut any diff'rent from the spate of remixes that pour from the nation's most hidden hole?

Possibly that the finest artists in the most upfront scene in the world have chosen their favourite tracks from the entire DJ Food series, a back-catalogue of six years worth of experimentation without compromise? Possibly that the result is simply tha most shocking thang you've ever heard ever, ever?

We could talk about the music but ev'ry track is so bloody different and so bloody good that there's no point, really. Just put the fugger on and let your ears do the rest as your jaw drops to the floor in astonishment at the variety of spice provided.

New re-workings from Squarepusher, Dr. Rockit, Wagon Christ, Tongue & Groove, Skint, Vadim and DJ Food himself. Classic remixes from Fila Brazilia, Autechre, Ashley Beedle, M.L.O.

The vinyl of Refried food will be cut on six 12"s released in pairs, two of which have been previously released as limited editions. The 12"s will include extra tracks from Lemon D, the Jeep Beat Collective, Neotropic, Dr. Jam and Mr. Scruff as well as the Black Devil mix of Inosan, cut in two halves on separate slabs of wax for extra mixability.

Speech Debelle Freedom Of Speech
Speech Debelle - Freedom Of Speech
(CD/LP/Digital) Big Dada Recordings BD193, 2012-02-06

Two years since winning the 2009 Mercury Music Prize for her debut album, Speech Therapy, and having ridden a rollercoaster through life since then, Speech Debelle is ready to drop her second collection of music. Entitled Freedom of Speech, the album sees Speech turning from introspection to stand up, face and engage with the world around her, spitting confident themes of revolution and love. A first taste of the album came in the aftermath of this summer's riots, when Speech reacted immediately, leaking the track Blaze Up A Fire, (also featuring Roots ManuvaRealism), a track about political revolution written months before. Now the build-up begins to the release of Freedom of Speech in early February 2012 with the free download of the track Studio Backpack Rap. From political to musical revolution, Speech describes the track as being "all about virtual instrumentation and an ode to KwesSpeech Therapy, while showcasing just one aspect of her remarkable new album.
