Follow The Leader - XRABIT & DMG$

Press Release :
After the fantastic reception for debut single "Killin Em," Xrabit + DMG$ take it down a little to show that they understand hip hop's history as well as its future.

"Follow The Leader" combines the stab-happy rhythms of the old skool with next level bass squelch and sci-fi sonics. Over Xrabit's utterly distinctive production our Texan twosome, Damaged Good$, show exactly why they're an MC combo to watch. Tall, laid-back, deep-voiced, Coool Dundee shows his grasp of hip hop lineage with a witty, referential series of rhymes that'll have you bouncing. Partner Trak Bully, the quicker, more "Southern" sounding of the pair, comes through with the braggadoccio: "I'm fresh, you see/I'm fresher than you'll ever be." The result is funny, funky, instantly addictive and clever. This could be the most loveable, brilliant and, yes, fresh new act hip hop has thrown up in years.

To round out the package, check out not one but two blinding mixes from Dalston-based Xrabit, who is doing little more than warming up for the sound-barrage he delivers on the trio's debut album, "Hello World" (due for release in March 2009). And, as if that's not enough, watch the video he has directed for the piece, garishly resplendent on YouTube right now. Xrabit + DMG$ lead, the rest of us follow.
