Tru Thoughts will release a 'Tru Thoughts Covers' compilation of the Unfold sister label this summer. An album of their favorite covers on the label, alongside some exclusive new covers. This limited 7" vinyl-only release gathers a couple of tracks with Quantic and His Combo Barbaro (the new name for The Quantic Soul Orchestra) taking on Portishead's 'Wandering Star' and Nostalgia 77 fet. Fiction Trio taking on Eminem's 'Ny Name Is'.

The second installment in Tru Thoughts' Black Gold series of limited edition vinyl DJ weapons features two killer cover versions set to become Tru Thoughts classics: Quantic And His Combo Bárbaro give you their spin on "Wandering Star" by Portishead, and Nostalgia 77 hooks up with the Fiction Trio to take on Eminem's "My Name Is".

Both tracks on this double A side 7" are taken from the upcoming ‘Tru Thoughts Covers' album, which is coming out later in 2009 (on the Unfold imprint) and features some of the label's biggest covers from over the years as well as a number of other exclusives from Jamie Woon, Bugz In The Attic and Lizzy Parks amongst others.

This Black Gold 7" is the first ever release to feature the sound of Quantic And His Combo Bárbaro, the new band that Will Holland has assembled in his current home of Cali, Colombia. More from them soon... Both tracks are totally exclusive for several months!

The Black Gold 7" is limited to 500 copies Worldwide.

Two years since winning the 2009 Mercury Music Prize for her debut album, Speech Therapy, and having ridden a rollercoaster through life since then, Speech Debelle is ready to drop her second collection of music. Entitled Freedom of Speech, the album sees Speech turning from introspection to stand up, face and engage with the world around her, spitting confident themes of revolution and love. A first taste of the album came in the aftermath of this summer's riots, when Speech reacted immediately, leaking the track Blaze Up A Fire, (also featuring Roots ManuvaRealism), a track about political revolution written months before. Now the build-up begins to the release of Freedom of Speech in early February 2012 with the free download of the track Studio Backpack Rap. From political to musical revolution, Speech describes the track as being "all about virtual instrumentation and an ode to KwesSpeech Therapy, while showcasing just one aspect of her remarkable new album.
