The Friday Night Session - Exclusive Paris DJs mix

The Sport of Selection

The Friday Night Session radio show hosted by Andrew Jervis (former Ubiquity Records A&R) has just relaunched his website with a brand new name, The Sport of Selection. First guest were Azaxx & Diesler, then Rob Luis of Tru Thoughts Recordings. I was more than proud to get invited to do the third mix of the show, with a special guest interview with Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 6/Brownswood Records), followed by an exclusive mix by myself ('Djouls of the Paris DJs'). Tune-in on thesportofselection.com to give it a listen. Including some rare and exclusive tracks and remixes from Lee Fields, Quantic & Alice Russell, Beta Hector, Grant Phabao & Afrodyete, and more new releases from Gizelle, Niles Philips, Carl 'Sherlock' Holmes, Calibro 35, Les Frères Smith, The Bombay Royale and The Cactus Channel.

Paris DJs Soundsystem presents 1985, 1986 & 1987 - Standards, Versions and Revamps Vol.26

We've reached 1985 and most of music is in a really bad shape. Music marketing is starting to morph thanks to the Grateful Dead who re-invented the direct-to-fan business the previous year, but music production is still hitting an unsurpassed low, almost everywhere. It might come as a surprise to...

Paris DJs Soundsystem presents 1984 - Standards, Versions and Revamps Vol.25

1984 is the tipping point, the limit before things start to go really sideways for a few years in music… Out of the 12 tracks we picked here, two were already released in 1982 on small labels or pressings, and one was recorded live in Japan in 1983, so we're cheating a little bit. But the point is...
