Press Release :
Packing some serious party muscle, The Bamboos' new single, "Turn It Up", sees the Aussie kings of funk enlisting the vocal stylings of Californian hip hop sensation Lyrics Born.

The seed for this explosive collaboration was sown in a radio interview on Australia's national JJJ Radio, when Lyrics Born declared on air that of all the artists he'd like to work with at the moment, The Bamboos were top of the list. Sensing something special on the way, JJJ got straight on the phone to Bamboos main man Lance Ferguson (Lanu), hooked the pair up and away they went – and this surefire party anthem is the result.

A fiery brew showing scant regard for genre boundaries, this track is already causing a stir with fans of hip hop, funk, rock and pop alike, so whatever your stylistic leanings, if you're a sucker for a catchy mother****er, "Turn It Up" will have its wicked way with you.
Not yet available on any other release, "Turn It Up" featuring Lyrics Born will appear on the 'Exclusives' disc of the Tru Thoughts 10th Anniversary 3CD booklet, out 19th October on CD only. This digital single is being released on 12th October as a sneak preview of the quality within that selection of exclusive tracks. And, turns out Lyrics Born is so proud of the song that he wants to put it on his next solo LP too; in short, it is only a matter of time before this song is simply everywhere... but for the foreseeable, enjoy it as an exclusive part of the Tru Thoughts 10th Anniversary celebrations.

On the digital single you'll also find the soulful "Move On" featuring Paul MacInnes, taken from The Bamboos' current album, 'Side Stepper' which continues to enjoy major radio support from the likes of Mark Lamarr (BBC Radio 2), John Kennedy (XFM), Craig Charles (BBC 6Music) and many more.

Speech Debelle - Freedom Of Speech
(CD/LP/Digital) Big Dada Recordings BD193, 2012-02-06

Two years since winning the 2009 Mercury Music Prize for her debut album, Speech Therapy, and having ridden a rollercoaster through life since then, Speech Debelle is ready to drop her second collection of music. Entitled Freedom of Speech, the album sees Speech turning from introspection to stand up, face and engage with the world around her, spitting confident themes of revolution and love. A first taste of the album came in the aftermath of this summer's riots, when Speech reacted immediately, leaking the track Blaze Up A Fire, (also featuring Roots ManuvaRealism), a track about political revolution written months before. Now the build-up begins to the release of Freedom of Speech in early February 2012 with the free download of the track Studio Backpack Rap. From political to musical revolution, Speech describes the track as being "all about virtual instrumentation and an ode to KwesSpeech Therapy, while showcasing just one aspect of her remarkable new album.
