First Word is back with another banging release, this time from the first international signing to First Word – Souleance – live and direct from Paris.

SOULEANCE is the result of the partnership between producer Fulgeance and DJ Soulist of What The Funk…

Fulgeance has been building a reputation in the beats scene with his awesome releases on the French label Musique Large. Leading and managing several projects (Peter Digital Orchestra and Connecticut), this talented producer and remixer is well known for his devastating beats and stunning live performances. Focused on hypnotic and electronic Hip Hop, Fulgeance subtly mixes his influences to create his signature "Low Club" groove, (Low Club Anthem being the lead track on his last Musique Large EP).

Soulist, the French funky president, is the founder and resident DJ of Paris' clubnight What the Funk, which recently celebrated its sixth birthday. A man with an obsession for Disco, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop and Latin, he's shared a stage with some of the biggest names in the worldwide scene including Cut Chemist, Keb Darge, DJ Vadim, Quantic, DJ Numark, Dudley Perkins, Madlib and Pilooski.

Soulist and Fulgeance met in 2006 while performing and from that friendship the Souleance project was born: a mixture of Soulist's organic influences and the raw energy and production skill of Fulgeance. The EP covers many genres, taking in Hip Hop (Manana), Breaks (Le Monde and One Step) and even the funkier end of the 80s (Cool FM ).

Already receiving radio support from Gilles Peterson on BBC Radio One, the Le Monde EP is the first of many massive releases from thus talented duo.

SOULEANCE est le résultat de l'association du talentueux producteur Fulgeance et de dj Soulist de What The Funk…

Fulgeance est un des artistes du label français Musique Large. A La tête de différents projets ( Peter Digital Orchestra et Connecticut ), ce producteur et remixeur de talent s'est fait remarqué par ses beat ravageurs et ses prestations lives étourdissantes.
Concentré sur un hip hop électronique et hypnotique Fulgeance mélange avec finesse ses différentes influences pour en extraire un groove "Low Club", hymne et titre phare de son dernier EP chez Musique Large.

Soulist, notre demago funky french president, est le créateur et dj résident des soirées What The Funk à Paris dont les 6 ans Viennent d'être fêtés... Rythmes Disco, Soul, Funk Hip hop, Musiques latines comme obsession, ses mixes ont croisé de nombreux artistes et dj respectés, tels que Cut Chemist, Keb Darge, Dj Vadim, Quantic,, DJ Numark, Dudley Perkins, Madlib, Pilooski, etc.

Soulist et Fulgeance se rencontrent sur scène en 2006 et décident de travailler ensemble sur un nouveau projet nommé Souleance ... Souleance, c'est le mélange d'influences organiques de Soulist avec le savoir faire et la malice du producteur Fulgeance ... Un projet sans complexe qui va chercher des énergies et des rythmiques diverses, qu'elle soient hip hop (Manana), break (Le Monde et One Step) ou funky 80 (Cool FM ).

Leur premier EP Le Monde sort en Mai 2009 sur l'excellent Label Anglais First Word Records (kidKANEVIL, Haggis Horns, Homecut... )
