En 1976, plus personne ne s'intéresse à Sly Stone. Le bassiste de la Family Stone, Larry Graham, en est à son quatrième album de pur funk à la Sly avec son groupe Graham Central Station, alors que Sly sort cet album anecdotique, duquel on ne gardera que le deuxième morceau, What Was I Thinking, une pièce de soul plutôt réussie avec une jam intrumentale bien funky vers la fin. Le reste n'est qu'arrangements pop flirtant avec l'easy-listening, même si Heard You Missed Me, Well I'm Back et Blessing In Disguise restent de bonnes chansons, évoquant presque l'album Stand!... En 1976, il vaut mieux revendiquer l'influence de Sly comme source d'inspiration plutôt que d'être Sly lui-même! La vie est absurde.
