Rio's original nu-bossa star Sabrina Malheiros returns with a deluxe version of her 2008 summer smash. With an all new track listing featuring four reworks, including two stunning versions of 'Brisa Mar' and 'New Morning' from the don of modern jazz and bossa Nicola Conte, and the addition of the previously unreleased jazz dance track 'Gingar De Amor', this beautiful modern bossa electric album flows effortlessly. Songwriter for a generation of young Brazilians, Malheiros delivers an album of golden era bossa-soul, samba, disco and house, to capture the vibe of 21st century bossa nova. With skilful re-mastering, new artwork, extensive and revealing sleeve notes from Sabrina as well as Portuguese and translated English lyrics, the 'New Morning Deluxe Edition' perfectly complements these gorgeous sounds of Brazilian summer.

Following her best-selling debut album 'Equilibria', singer-songwriter Sabrina Malheiros returned in 2008 with 'New Morning', a sophisticated and sublime album of 21st century bossa soul. The Deluxe Edition takes the very best tracks from New Morning adding never previously released, instrumental versions of 'Sintonia' and 'Brisa Mar' and 'Eira Nem Beira' before IG Culture's huge broken beat house crossover re-work of the latter crashes the album to a close. Nicola Conte handpicked his pair and re-created the entire songs from scratch to produce two beautiful records, that stand alongside some of Conte's finest ever productions.

Sabrina Malheiros is a highly accomplished young musician who has a musical heritage that is deeply rooted in Brazilian musical history. The daughter of Alex Malheiros, the bassist from the legendary Azymuth Sabrina is under no illusion as to the influence they have had in her musical journey. 'With my father in Azymuth and my grandfather with Sergio Mendes, I have always been surrounded by the samba beat!'

New Morning features an all-star Brazilian team including: Jose Roberto Bertrami, Ivan Conti, Zé Carlos, Idriss Boudrioua and Paulinho Braga as well as legendary Brazilian arranger and composer Arthur Verocai. The album was produced by Daniel Maunick (DJ Venom - son of Bluey's from Icognito band) and shows Maunick's evolution into a highly versatile and skilful producer.

With '70s inspired sweeping samba-soul songs nestled in between boogie-tinged jazz, house rhythms and funky cinematic-bossa breaks Sabrina recreates the honesty of her debut but with a new sense of maturity and sophistication. The album erupts with Conte's beautifully re-imagined floating bossa of 'Brisa Mar', which was originally co-written by her father Alex Malheiros and inspired by the bays of Rio. Alongside 'Sintonia' it reflects the powerful partnership of Sabrina's writing abilities combined with the grand string arrangements of the renowned Arthur Verocai, resulting in songs that would sit comfortably in any classic film score. Sabrina recalls: "Arranging these songs with Arthur Verocai I discovered a like-minded spirit."

'Connexão' was the first track to be written for this project. The cool, sexy rhythmic house features the prominent afro-samba guitar playing of Ze Carlos evoking the swing of Jorge Ben and providing a vivid, cutting commentary on the living conditions in Rio. Sabrina sums up the reality: "The world has a romanticised view of Rio…but the violence, misery and poverty detract from all this beauty." Sabrina effortlessly slips into English on the title track that symbolises the London- Rio fusion between Daniel and Sabrina, combining traditional Partido Alto samba with a futuristic edge.

The Deluxe Edition does full justice to the music of New Morning – "the best album of summer 2008"
