Paris DJs Soudsystem - Wearplay EP#09 - Vinyl Is Good For You (T-shirt/Digital Single bundle, Paris DJs/Le T-shirt Français, 2017)

Paris DJs Wearplay EP 009

Times flies… It's the 3rd week and already the 9th release in our "Wearplay" series combining clothing, graphics and music. Some people have already yield to temptation, even though the first season of 15 episodes ain't fully published yet. We're hope many more will succumb to the beauty of the Ben Hito designs, the high quality of the cotton-brushed T-shirts, and the well-being and contentment provided by the Paris DJs songs offered as a complementary download with the Tees.

This "Wearplay EP #09" opens with neo-vintage dancehall vibes from Jamaican deejay U-Brown. "Mr. DJ Let The Music Play", with its dynamic skanking and shoutouts rocks the dance hall instantly with bubbles of joy exploding from the speakers. Then comes Afrodyete and her beautiful, super-smooth, super-powerful voice. "Itchin' For Your Love" is a storming and entrancing soulful ska burner, super hot, sexy and smoking.

Following up are deep and growling rub-a-dub verses from Jamaican rub-a-dub deejay The Lone Ranger, with a sweet and soulful chorus from singer Carlton Livingston. Together they're bringing back memories of breezy, sun-filled days from the Carribean. "Take Her To Jamaica Weh The Reggae Come From" gets stuck in the head and never leaves, bringing smiles to listeners' faces everytime. The EP closes with Paris-based, Chicago-born MC RacecaR, laying here a thick rap, moving on and around the beat, over a deep & dubby, slow & stripped-down early 80s dancehall style riddim from Grant Phabao. The vibe is laidback, smokey, while tropical and hip. The perfect closer to this 4-track EP.

Sur "Take Her To Jamaica Weh The Reggae Come From" ils partagent leurs souvenirs des Caraïbes, de journées ensoleillées…

About the Wearplay :
The music industry is evolving and Paris DJs with it.

Five years ago we started putting out digital releases, which helped us stay afloat for a bit, but soon digital sales declined, replaced by streaming, a true non-business for independent record companies such as ours.

The vinyl resurgence led us to launch crowdfunding campaigns to press records. We managed to raise money five times in a row, alas record stores are a thing of the past, and direct-to-fan sales haven't taken off. Distributors have been knocking at the door intensely, but with no financial solutions.

In our quest for innovative ways to put out quality music, we wanted to prove ourselves capable of making great products that people would want to use, again and again.
Original, creative, but satisfying products. That's how we came up with the idea of the "Paris DJs Wearplay", a clothing line of "music that you wear", with :

- dashing visuals from French illustrator Ben Hito (www.benhito.com)
- stylish textile digital or screen printing by Anarres in Paris (www.anarres.fr)
- high-end Made in France T-shirts and sweatshirts by Le T-shirt Français (www.letshirtfrancais.fr)
- vintage 1970's sound with Grant Phabao's unsurpassed audio production and mastering skills (www.grantphabao.com)
- and of course, top-of-the-class artistic direction from Djouls and Loik Dury at Paris DJs (www.parisdjs.com)

Just like airplay for radio in the 20th century, the more people will wear our clothes, the more wearplay they'll get.

We want you to proudly arbor Paris DJs' groovy music, while supporting your favorite brand at the same time!
