July 2012 was cooler than the previous month on the releases side, with 25 new physical records reaching our shores (and more than 30 new digital albums). Thankfully some labels are stil putting on vinyl and CD, the kind you can touch, watch, read and cherish… Among them this month we'd like to give praise to Brainfeeder, Comet, Counter, Far Out, GUYNAMUKAT, Kept, Ninja Tune, Square and Tramp Records - along with our friends who've been feeding us with top-quality records: Alma Afrobeat Ensemble rising the Afrobeat flag in Spain, Analogik from Denmark and their amazing global mixture, Bio Ritmo in Brooklyn who played an amazing latin/salsa show at Le Studio de L'Ermitage last week, Brownout from Austin, Texas and their killer new album of Latin-Funk grooves, Butch Cassidy Sound System from Scotland with their long-awaited second opus, Soul Sugar from France and a taster EP from his upcoming soul-jazz second album, and finally the unique Doctor L from Ireland (but who lives in Paris), who finally unleashes his folk masterpiece We Got Lost!
