Onur Engin - Edits Vol. 3 - out on OE Edits

Onur Engin Edits Vol 3
Onur Engin - Edits Vol. 3
(12" only, no digital) Onur Engin Edits OE03, 2011-04-11

Onur Engin returns with three heavy slices of edit heaven. Strictly limited to 750 copies, no-repress, no-digital. On the A side, he takes Roy Ayers's Red, Black and Green into deep and bumping dancefloor territory, perfectly cut and extended in a very Detroit style; followed by Dave Grusin's Three Days of Condor theme. He runs with it and breaks for the border. On the flip, the one & the only Quincy Jones's sublime Summer in the City is given the ultra clean and subtle OE treatment, right amount of slickness and pump to compliment the original and taken out to a very satisfying 9.30 minutes.

The latest Analog Africa reissue is up for pre-order on Bandcamp! The album, originally a 1978 release by Orchestre Poly Rythmo's singer Vincent Ahehehinnou, is rare-as-shit, worth nearly 4 figures if you can find a decent copy. There's only 4 tunes, two afrofunk monsters and two ballads, but...
