Nik Weston Presents Colombian Funk & Latin Gems (Limited 45, Mukatsuku Records, 2013)

Nik Weston Presents Colombian Funk and Latin Gems

We've put up many Tropical Mixes on Paris DJs, including some gems from the Caribbean Coast Region of Colombia. Released in 1975 on the Discos Fuentes label, the monster dancefloor track from Wganda Kenya penned and produced by Fruko 'Tipit Hayed' was picked in 2007 for the fantastic Soundway Records compilation 'Colombia!'. This very cool tropical dub edit from Radio Nova programmer Blundetto then appeared on 'Domino Edits # 1' CD compilation from 2009, and finally arrives on vinyl thanks to Juno Records selector and Mukatsuku label founder Nik Weston. B-side 'Salsa Na Ma' is a terrific piece of Colombian Salsa from Fruko Y Sus Tesos and with its irresistible piano intro, should devastate any kind of global dancefloor!
