Linkwood - System - out on Prime Numbers

Linkwood System
Linkwood - System
(CD/3xLP/Digital) Prime Numbers PNLP01/PNCD01, 2009-10-09

After gaining high praise for his previous productions on both the Firecracker Recordings 10" series and Prime Numbers EPs including tracks such as Miles Away, R.I.P., Piece Of Mind & Lost Experiment, here's System, the debut album from Nick Moore aka Linkwood. System clearly shows the breadth of Linkwood's influences with a spectrum of styles confidently blended including 80's boogie, detroit techno, house and deep soul. From start to finish the album is brimming with the drama of integral, subterranean dance music. The album has been well engineered and produced, giving a distinctly powerful and affecting finish to all the tracks. Collaborating with Linkwood are Fudge Fingas, who features on keys on several tracks and the singer, comedian, entertainer Reggie Watts, who provides the vocal for Tears.

Press Release :
"System" is an album forged from experience. Nodding towards his love of 80’s boogie, techno, house and deep soul Linkwood maintains a fresh, uncomprimised substance-over-style sound that is uniquely his own. "Robot Parade" is a dark, menacing opener to the album with successive tracks "Falling" and ‘Fudge Boogie"showing his lighter side. The deep soul influenced "Tears" is perhaps the track for fans of Linkwood’s former releases whilst "System" and "Nectarine" highlight his love for deep techno. As the style and tempo vary throughout the album the listener gains insight into Linkwood’s range and depth of influences.

Biography :
Linkwood is Producer, Engineer and DJ Nick Moore. Best known for his highly acclaimed releases on Firecracker Records, including 'Miles Away' and 'Piece of Mind', Linkwood released his first LP ‘System’ for Prime Numbers in September 2009 - an album which has taken him around the world.

As a teenager growing up in Bristol in the late 80’s/early 90’s, Linkwood became fascinated with house and techno. This inspired him to make his own music and learn everything possible about production and recording techniques. With a reputation for hype-dodging, the infamously elusive Linkwood now has forthcoming tour dates set for Europe, Japan, USA and Australia. He is also working on a second LP for Prime Numbers as well as future EP’s and remixes.

What they said about Linkwood’s debut LP "System" :
"I feel not many producers can level with linkwood right now" - Antal, Rush Hour Records "A mightilly impressive debut , record of the week" - Piccadilly Records "One of the most eagerly awaited dance albums of the year and a genuine triumph" - Rough Trade "In the top 5 dance albums of the year, very big recommendation" - Boomkat
