Jon returns with his 4th Long Player entitled "14" representing the number of tracks contained within.
From hip hop to rock, jazz, soul and breakbeat, "14" is the cleanest piece of work from Mr Kennedy to date. Teaming up with Floridian label Organik Recordings to great effect. With all the characteristic melodies and constructions of Jon's own sound and an injection of the new.
Featuring some new voices in the form of Plymouth, UK based Amie J, legendary rocker and in-house vocalist for Hospital Records - Pat Fulgoni . Jon himself vocalises and of course the vocal genius of Miss Sarah Scott makes an appearance...
Jon has been touring Europe with his LIVE BAND, testing the new tracks in the live arena to great effect. Rocking crowds of 200 to 4000 people at venues and festivals from East to West for the past 12 months. Encore's were demanded and return visits secured. Be sure to look out for Jon's 4 piece live outfit in a town near you!
7 inch Press Release :
The first installment from the forthcoming long player "14" is in the shape of a 7" with the track "Live Test" written solely for use with his band. "Live Test" made the final cut onto the LP due to its demand with crowds and DJ's alike.
Supported so far in their DJ sets by Z Trip, Mark Rae, DJ Vajra, Fletch and many others, and this is before it's official release. One can't really argue with that!
On The flip side is a rework of Jon's epic track "Demons." Dubbed up and stepped up by Farm Fresh's Tim Smith. It's a club banger, no question!
There will definitely be a cd and 2lp vinyl with digital drop card as well, in addition the 7" will be 550 copies of which 150 will be colored translucent blue vinyl packaged in a double sided matting with silk screen printing, hand numbered and signed by jon kennedy. Its part of the "4 seasons" series of 7"s for 2009, of which Frameworks from Manchester UK, Cru Jonez from Brooklyn NY, Maker from Chicago, IL and Jon Kennedy from Bristol will represent with each of there own 7" series! OHHHHH AND SYSTEM D128 Diplo's video producer is doing a video for "Demons" as well......... Its going to be a huge 2009 for our label especially with the Jon Kennedy release! Cheers! I received notice of request for the Jon Kennedy "14" 2LP/CD/Digital, release date, info etc....
OK so here it is from we here at Organik.
Official 500 limited pressing of solid white vinyl 2lp gatefold shrinkwrapped with digital drop card (includes bonus video for Demons by System D-128) - 9/1/09 September 1st 2009. GUARANTEED SOLID. - bonus multiple 7"s from Organik, shirts, etc.....for the first 100 orders......
The reason we missed the 7/7/09 release date was due to mastering quality issues and also multiple design corrections. We like to provide a quality final product you will be pleased with.
DIGIPACK CD (not jewel case, yuck) and DIGITAL will follow immediately after the vinyl release.
The Jon Kennedy Snare Force One EP DIGITAL ONLY will be available mid August as a teaser to the full length, includes the tracks from the 7" single Live Test b/w Demons Farm Fresh Remix and then 4 other remixes of Demons. SOLID ALL AROUND.
After the vinyl release there will be a NEW Jon Kennedy 7" Boom Clack b/w Space O Matic REMIX limited edition Four Season series capping off Fall with translucent red vinyl packaged in hand numbered silk screened 7" folds limited to 200.
Then we will release the K-Kruz Look Honest 12" EP featuring STEVE SPACEK. SICK!
