Jammer returns to the fray with the fourth single from his acclaimed and much loved album, Jahmanji. The anthemic, perhaps unusually positive power-grime of Bad Mind People has become a firm favourite in the clubs and on the airwaves. Skepta's bouncy, infectious production provides the perfect backdrop for Jammer and Newham Generals (Dirtee Stank) to ruminate on negative creeps, and Lickle J's singalong chorus is the icing on the grimepie. Double A side Back to the 90's is produced by man of the moment and Ninja Tune's latest signing, Toddla T. Performed with much enthusiasm at the offices of a major newspaper recently (google it,) it's an exuberant, unselfconscious look at a receding decade. Don't even try to resist.

English label Soul Jazz Records released this summer a collection of experimental rock recorded in Venezuela in the 1970s, at a time when oil was flowing in abundance and consequently culture rather well subsidized. However, this music had never really got out of the country until now, it's really a...
