Hint is back with a new single and a new album and that's reason enough for us to celebrate! His second album, also released on Tru Thoughts Recordings, Driven From Distraction, was killer soulful electronic madness, sounding like nothing else on the map, a really astonishing record that easily made it to our 2008 Top 10. After many singles, tracks here and there and remixes, Hint has just released a new 10 inch, Crash and Burn feat. Natalie Storm b/w Aliens Enter feat. T-Fly... The A-side is a monster dancehall/bass mashup, while on the flip you'll find an addictive piece of abstract and exotic hip hop. Both tracks are to be found in the album to be released march 19th, Daily Intake, which we're supposed to come back to next month, but it's so brilliant we couldn't pass on talking about it many weeks before it's available. Expect hip hop, UK house and bass, dancehall and breakbeat to collide on dancefloors worldwide because this is HEAVY, on the opposite end of the cheesy/cheaply sounding stuff to be found in 99% of dance music out there. Prized tracks include the mesmerizing bounce of Lock The Door featuring Zed Bias, hip hop/bass headphone marvel Peter & I Featuring T Fly and the closing track and aptly titled Mad Nervous.

Hint - Aliens Enter feat.T Fly

Press Release :
“LOVE this and will play it on the show” – MARY ANNE HOBBS (XFM)
“Wicked” - DJ SPINNA
“Boy! I need the WAV for tomorrow night this will mash up my dance” - DADDY G (MASSIVE ATTACK)

Hint’s third album ‘Daily Intake’, sees this highly respected underground producer, remixer and DJ working with incredible vocal talent from around the World; mashing up dancehall, hip hop, UK house and bass music influences to create a flowing yet constantly surprising album, which is a scintillating record for dancefloors and headphone moments alike.

‘Daily Intake’ features a handful of uniquely talented vocalists, with women heavily outnumbering men, including Dancehall star Natalie Storm and T-Fly (discovered at last years SXSW). While this bias was not intentional, it has a striking effect, and in Hint’s words, “I'm glad it's worked out that way. So much of the UK underground scene can be too male-dominated, so I feel that bringing in some super talented female voices to the mix adds a new dimension.”

‘Daily Intake’ is a new beginning for Hint that sees him consciously moving away from the more downtempo elements of his two previous long-players (Ninja Tune’s ‘Portakabin Fever’ and Tru Thoughts’ ‘Driven From Distraction’) to reconnect with his passion for party music, from jungle to dancehall to house and contemporary hip hop. Everything, right down to the album’s darkly striking artwork, represents this new vibe of freshness with an edge. Doing a number of acclaimed remixes in recent months for the likes of Lanu, Stac and Maddslinky – as well as his lauded rework of MJ Cole and Wiley – has also helped him to hone his style.

With building radio support across the BBC, RBMA, Xfm, KEXP, Rinse FM and elsewhere; international DJ bookings galore; plus an exciting new custom control-based Ableton Live set, in which he brings together live mixes with special guest PAs; the foundations are laid for Hint to break through in 2012.
