Grant Phabao presents The Lone Ranger - Fever

Stevie Wonder vs Grant Phabao

FEVER 70's DEEJAY STYLE! "For all these years I wanted to do Fever and I had to wait until I met Grant Phabao and TIMEC to get it right. It's a combination style of Ranger, singer and deejay. Counteracting styles. Gliding in deejay style. Original 70 deejay style of Lone Ranger, you know." (The Lone Ranger, about the Kulchaklash album)

Info :
FEVER ON THE FLOOR
"The Ranger is back... another winner from all-mighty Phabao... As good on the dancefloor as previous 'Message To You Rudie', 'Fever' brings fever on the floor..." - Manu Boubli (Comet/Mind)

ORIGINAL FLAVOUR OF JAMAICAN TEMPO
"I kept it the original flavour this time. I choose different riddims (than last year). It's a different vibe. Those tracks are Jamaican tempo this time, not Phabao tempo." - The Lone Ranger on djouls.com/djloneranger

FEVER 70's DEEJAY STYLE
"For all these years I wanted to do "Fever" and I had to wait until I met Phabao and TIMEC to get it right. It's a combination style of Ranger, singer and deejay. Counteracting styles. Gliding in deejay style. Original 70 deejay style of Lone Ranger, you know." - The Lone Ranger on rangerstyle.com

THE GODFATHER OF RUB A DUB
"If U-Roy is the godfather of Deejays, Lone Ranger is without a doubt the godfather of Rub A Dub! Author of 4 unforgettable albums in the seventies, the concealed veteran (his name is a borrowing of western novels of the times) keeps on surprising us since with sporadic singles - but of a constant quality. At the origin of the first soundsystem in Paris in 1979, he comes back 20 years after, always followed by his partner Chester (also present in 79 at Paris!)." - The Lone Ranger on Heartical.net

MY NAME IS THE LONE RANGER
"Back in those days most deejays had cowboy names. One night I was deejaying and I introduced a tune with the words: "Right now this one badder than Dillinger, tougher than Eastwood! My name is the Lone Ranger, that's why I act like a stranger!". It just came out like that and from that time the name stuck with me." - The Lone Ranger on rebelbase.be

Grant Phabao presents The Lone Ranger - The Iphone Connection

Grant Phabao The Lone Ranger The Iphone Connection

The iPhone Connection song is a tribute to the co-founder and CEO of Apple who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer this summer. It was recorded at Paris DJs studios just a few days before Steve Jobs passed away. Jamaican DJ The Lone Ranger is on vocal duties with French dubmeister Grant Phabao at the controls & playing all instruments. The Lone Ranger is one of Jamaica's most influential early dancehall DJs. He was twice voted N°1 deejay on the island, in 1979 and 1980. He helped pioneer a newly rhythmic, on-the-beat rhyming style that led DJ toasting into the modern age, and punctuated his lyrics with bizarre exclamations and sound effects ("bim" and "ribbit" were his favorites) that made him perhaps the most imaginative stylist of his time. He had originally recorded The Walkman Connection way back in 1984 (on "DJ Daddy" / Techniques), now fully updated to 2011 as The Iphone Connection !
