Press Release :
World renowned BBC Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson compiles a spectacular collage mix tape from the vaults of Far Out for this fifteenth anniversary celebration. A close friend to Far Out's Joe Davis for 25 years, Gilles Peterson has been a constant supporter of the original and best UK based Brazilian record label. The pair released the original "Brazilika" compilation on Gilles' Talking Loud label 15 years ago and now go full circle with the fourth installment in Far Out's series, following block party mixes from Kenny Dope, 4 Hero and Andy Votel. Brazilian music aficionados Peterson and Davis introduced a new generation to the cream of Brazil's bossa and post-bossa artists and here expertly blend the cream of the timeless - Ipanemas, Grupo Batuque, Azymuth, Arthur Verocai - with the new breed - Clara Moreno, Binario and Zeep - from Far Out's monumental catalogue.

Far Out have been putting out LPs, CDs, 7s, 12s and digital exclusives over these 15 years to the tune of over 150 releases and here some of the best tracks from the deep troves of Far Out's musical treasure are re-explored, mixed and given over to this glorious journey. At times deep, at others riotous, this album is a 'Vagalum"' (Fire Fly) through the heart of Brazilian music. Democustico's 2006 track sums up the vast range of genres to produce the perfect hybrid. Taking it back to the old school and presenting Brazil's best new talent, 'Brazilika' infectiously mixes through the label's wide ranging styles.

With nostalgic voice over, soaring strings (Verocai) timeless samba (Ipanemas), illicit guitar rock (Binario), crazy batucada (Grupo Batuque), crazy samba (Azymuth), bossa, jazz and folk (Joyce), Gilles' "Brazilika" truly packs it in. This album couldn't begin more fittingly with Far Out legends Azymuth followed by Rio super group and the label's very first project Friends from Rio, which featured Marcos Valle and Wanda de Sa. With five exclusive unreleased tracks including remixes from Far Out innovators Osunlade, Spiritual South and Domu plus a first look at tracks from upcoming releases including Alex Malheiros feat. Sabrina Malheiros, Gilles Peterson's "Brazil, classico, mix!" is the definitive collection of Far Out's work, taking us on a breathless ride through a beautiful, barmy Brazil.

These 23 hand-picked tracks barely break the surface of the thousands recorded by Far Out over the years yet they provide the perfect introduction to and celebration of his enduring label. DJs, record collectors and record label owners, Gilles Peterson and Joe Davis are perhaps the two most influential UK figures breaking Brazilian music to the Western world over the past thirty years. This album is a testament to their success and unending passion for bringing classic and innovative Brazilian music to the people. The authority on world and Brazilian music has found the perfect beat. Get Swept up.

Speech Debelle - Freedom Of Speech
(CD/LP/Digital) Big Dada Recordings BD193, 2012-02-06

Two years since winning the 2009 Mercury Music Prize for her debut album, Speech Therapy, and having ridden a rollercoaster through life since then, Speech Debelle is ready to drop her second collection of music. Entitled Freedom of Speech, the album sees Speech turning from introspection to stand up, face and engage with the world around her, spitting confident themes of revolution and love. A first taste of the album came in the aftermath of this summer's riots, when Speech reacted immediately, leaking the track Blaze Up A Fire, (also featuring Roots ManuvaRealism), a track about political revolution written months before. Now the build-up begins to the release of Freedom of Speech in early February 2012 with the free download of the track Studio Backpack Rap. From political to musical revolution, Speech describes the track as being "all about virtual instrumentation and an ode to KwesSpeech Therapy, while showcasing just one aspect of her remarkable new album.
