Debut Freestyle release of a deeply funky soul album from the Grammy Nominated Down to The Bone, previously signed to Blue Note & Verve Records, featuring contributions from Roy Ayers and Hil St Soul. The band create the perfect genre-bending groove odyssey on Future Boogie, featuring ten tracks of funk-drenched, feel-good hip shakers. This album is all about positive vibrations, super charged bass lines, summer time soul, dirty funk, clever horn arrangements and crafty hooks that have a way of getting in and staying inside your head. This new album draws upon the influence of Earth, Wind and Fire's killer horn arrangements as well as the jazz/funk explorations of contributor Roy Ayers, the funkier side of Herbie Hancock, The Blackbyrds, Cold Blood and The Mighty Burner, organ legend Charles Earland.

Info from the MySpace page :
"Okay, so I know I have been pretty guilty of a lack of info on here and on the web-site as of late...but not without good reason.

I am a couple of weeks away from completing the new album. It's an upbeat mix of funk and soul with a feelgood vibe retaining the DTTB sound played by fantastic musicians who love what they do and understand the groove. This shows across eclectic mix of tracks featured on the album from straight ahead funk to summer time soul.

The album will be released in the U.S and Canada via Shanachie Records, a new home for myself and the current release date is 21st April for the U.S and Canada. I am working on getting it released in Japan and the rest of the world, so hopefully more news on that soon.

As you can see the two featured guest artists are once again Hil St Soul and Roy Ayers. Other players on the album are:

Neil Angilley - Piano, Rhodes, Hammond, Clav and keys, Tony Remy - Guitar, Julian Crampton - bass, Phil Nelson - Drums, Richard Sadler - Percussion especially cowbell, James Knight - Alto sax, Tim Smart - Trombone, Pablo Mendelssohn - Trumpet, Andy Gray - Trumpet and Neil Burditt-Synth.

So, as you can see I have been busy over the past year and a half and it has been a real epic to get this album done, but one that you will hopefully hear has been worth it. I am really excited to be near the completion and can't wait for it's release. It has been a real pleasure to have had such fantastic people and hugely talentd musicians involved in this latest release.

As regards to the live side in the U.S, a new look DTTB band is currently being put together to bring the good groove back to the live side of things later in the year. Once the album is released, hopefully, promoters will start to become interested again and we can get back to playing gigs to our U.S fans.

So get ready for a slice of the good groove as it's finally on it's way."

Press Release :
Debut Freestyle release of a deeply funky soul album from the Grammy Nominated 'Down to The Bone', previously signed to Blue Note & Verve Records, featuring contributions from Roy Ayres and Hil St Soul.

Stuart Wades' Down To The Bone first took shape in 1995 and quickly established an enviable reputation in the US, receiving a Grammy nomination , securing a NO 2 slot on the Billboard chart, heavy radio play as well as recording for legendary jazz labels Blue Note and Verve Records, amazing achievements for a British band in exporting 'coals to Newcastle'.

For Future Boogie, DTTB mainstay Stuart Wade reunites with legendary vibraphonist and jazz funk pioneer Roy Ayers and R&B songbird Hil St. Soul. Highlights include the super funky 'Good To Me' featuring Roy Ayers, who not only lends his hot mallets to the track, but his voice too. Also included is the high octane and sassy 'Should've Been You' featuring Hil St. Soul and saxophonist James Knight who takes it from the organic soulful start into a rip roaring funk laden groove in the middle section. Hil St. Soul is also featured on the uplifting organic soul number 'The Brighter Side'.

Future Boogie is a well honed masterpiece and welcome addition to the Freestyle Records amazing roster of releases.
