Cravo & Canela - Preço De Cada Um - out on Mr Bongo

Cravo and Canela Preco De Cada Um
Cravo & Canela - Preço De Cada Um
(CD/LP/Digital) Mr Bongo MRBCD073/MRBLP073, 2011-03-14

Originally released on a small independent label championed by DJs lik (Brazilian Beats Brooklyn). Mr Bongo is thrilled to present one of the finest Brazilian albums ever recorded. One of the most mysteriously rare albums in the Brazilian collectors genre and one of the best examples of MPB in the mid-to-late 70s. More samba than bossa, this record has more sophisticated phrasing that you might expect in some of the EMI/Odeon work from earlier in the decade. Cravo & Canela harmonies are reminiscent of Sergio Mendes in the 60s, but with soulful piano and beautiful layered vocals on the top. This solid four-piece band produce such great material ranging from vintage Noel Rosa to latter-day originals by special guest Sivuca, all delivered with true Brazilian warmth.
