Un petit album qui présage déjà d'un son Ninja Tune. 9 lazy 9 est un collectif d'italiens rencontrés à Rome, dans un club de jazz un peu allumé. Tout de suite, les rythmes hip-hop jazz funk plurent aux tarés fondateurs du label londonien qui virent de suite le début d'une collaboration. Après un premier album, "Paradise blown", au succès notoire pour un indépendant, 9 Lazy 9 signe en 1994 un deuxième volet plus que plaisant, qui confirme les espoirs placés sur eux et sur leur label. Qui a dit que les anglais ne voulait pas de l'Europe?
